WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF SALWARS?

There are many different Designs, Styles an Patterns in the Salwars / Shalwars. Let’s have a look at some of the most popular salwar designs.

COMMON (BASIC) SALWAR

This is the basic type and most famous too. It has a loose and comfortable fit. The basic salwar is mostly used in the day to day wearing.  So it is mostly loose from the top to the bottom for comfort.

CHURIDAR SALWAR

This is the most sought after and invouge salwar. Dating back to ancient Indian moghul era, this bottom style has made a great comeback. Churidar Salwars were made famous by movies like Moghul-E-Azaam, Pakeeza, Anarkali etc. Recently Bollywood designers have brought them again to the International fashion scenario.

The distinctive feature of this salwar is the Wrinkles and horizontal layers that are formed around the ankle. This layers or wrinkles are called “Churis (Bangles)” that gives this salwar a majestic look.

To give this wrinkled look the salwar is sewn much lengthier and tighter then the wearer’s length (waist to toe). A wrinkled layer is formed due to this extra length. The Chrudiar salwars are usually worn with the Anarkali and Churidar dresses.

PATIALA SALWARS

These are very vibrant and fashionable salwars. From the interiors of the Punjabi heartland this salwars have won the hearts of all ladies. The Patiala salwars are usually loose and worn and upto ankle length. Vertical (straight) wrinkles / Pleats  are given for a stylish look. They are worn both with Kurtas and kurtis.

PLAZZO SALWARS
